As a Bengali, I always look forward to the month of Kartik Maas in the Bangla Calendar. It is the time when the air is filled with the fragrance of shiuli flowers, and the sound of dhak and dhol can be heard from a distance. It is a time when family and friends come together to celebrate the various festivals and events that take place during this month.
